Brett's In-Fill Drill Results Intersect Significant Widths and Grades

 News Release 09-17

Brett Resources Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange - BBR) is pleased to provide a progress report on drilling of the 100% owned Hammond Reef Project situated in northwestern Ontario. Two diamond drills have completed more than 25 holes, or 7,600 metres of the previously announced 70,000 metre diamond drill program. In addition to drill results, progress on surface exploration of additional mineralized areas are reported.

The initial phase of the diamond drilling has focused on in-fill drilling within the A-Zone and limited drilling to test the footwall of the system just east of the A-Zone. The in-fill program will assist in determining the drill density required to convert the current Inferred Resource to Indicated and Measured.

Patrick Soares, President and CEO comments, "I am encouraged by the fact that all in-fill drill holes completed to date, have returned comparable or better results than the adjacent holes".

Summarized below are the assay results for the first 13 holes. Attached to this release are two plan maps showing the drill hole locations and two vertical cross sections indicating the impact of the new drilling. Sections displaying additional recently completed drill holes will be available on our web site shortly at www.brettresources.com. Assays for the remaining 12 holes are pending.

Limited drill testing of the footwall was completed with six holes. The assay results of four holes are reported. Assays for the other two holes are pending. The objective of drill testing the footwall was for a combination of exploration and engineering planning purposes. The results for BR-147 are encouraging and confirms that mineralization in the footwall extends further north, potentially adding to the in-pit resource.

Surface Exploration Results

The surface exploration program completed this fall, has focused on an area of mineralization, referred to as the RAB Zone, which may reflect a parallel system of mineralization.. Surface stripping, followed by channel and grab samples have defined an area of mineralization comparable in intensity and alteration to the A-Zone. Final compilation of these data will enable drill exploration to commence on this target early in the new year.

Exploration of the historic Upper Seine Mine, found on the Manley Patents, approximately 1.6 kilometres northwest of the 41-Zone, has confirmed the existence of gold values comparable to those mined in the late 1800's.. In addition, during road building near the Upper Seine Mine an area of alteration which merits further investigation was uncovered. This information is still being compiled and is anticipated to generate drill targets.

Surface stripping, geological mapping and sampling have been completed on the A-Zone surface expression. This information is awaiting final sample assays. This information will assist in the interpretation and modeling of the deposit for ongoing resource evaluations.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

The Company utilizes standard industry practices in quality control and quality assurance with insertion of blind standards, blanks, and duplicates, in addition to the quality assurance and quality control practiced by the assay laboratory.
